Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions for Free

It's old news, but the Express Editions of Visual Studio 2005 are apparently free downloads :

Somebody was supposedly able to use Visual C++ to compile the Freespace Source Code Project's build:

Visual C# Express 2005 is available for free too.

Good call, I think. Can't blame Microsoft for delaying so long, though. One of the reasons that Windows took off is because a hell of a lot of software was written for it, and people didn't seem to mind paying $100 for a copy of Visual C/C++/Basic or their non-MS equivalents.

There is now NO valid reason for a programmer (or a want to be programmer) that has no funds for Visual Studio to not download the FREE Visual Studio .Net Express 2005 programs.

Sure they don't have the FULL features of Visual Studio .Net 2005 but they will at least let you do some nifty programming to get familiar with the tools in the full version.
