I was thinking about encrypting my HD but I have an auto backup program running that backs up new data every two hours.

Could I do that with an encrypted drive?

Probably, but the backup wouldn't be encrypted so it would pretty much defeat the purpose of encrypting it in the first place.

I could backup to a computer that was not in the same room and that was in a locked area.
