Explain your avatar

Post by Sapphire Wolf »

Hey, Thought I'd create a thread about your avatars. My avatar is basically a Veritech Valkyrie Battloid from Robotech/Macross. well, I haven't seen Robotech yet.

Anyways, explain your avatar. And explain it again if you change it.

<-- i was sick of my cutewendy one so i borrowed this from someone i gave psych drug advice to on livejournal.
i asked her where she got it from, she got it from a friend too, so no-one knows where it's from. if anyone here knows could you please tell me
the original pic:
Image

i am bored. so i will go back further...

Image
this above is from the online comic cutewendy. this one to be exact.

further back in time...

Image Image Image
the first of these above i had, it's artwork from the psych fantasy online comic KAGEROU. i think stresstest was pissed at something... oh yeah, i told him he shouldn't have such a huge avitar so he figured he'd mess around and had the 2nd avitar above (actually, i was chatting to the comic author once stress, and she really liked it. so there ya go, good on ya). then i changed mine to the 3rd googleimage colage one in a fit of artistic hyperactivity.

further back... look, just assume we are going backwards in time ok?

Image
lander is a cool game.

Image Image
these 2 i stole from some online artist i came across, i thought they were cute.

Image
ahh the fabulous GameSpyGuy, he just never stops smiling.

Image
i don't even remember using this one. *shrug*

Image
well it is.

Image
i'm a filthy hippy at heart.

Image
i had this one for the longest time. near when when i first joined the DBB.

Image
so i really liked Ed's character.

Roid, your current avatar reminds me of The Ring (American) or Ringu (Japan). I'm pretty sure it's a drawing representing the movie.
Girl crawling out of TV
The girl
&tc.
The origins (artist, etc) of that actual picture, though, I don't know.

Mine's actually originally for Scratch (does he still post here?) from... somebody around here. Scratch didn't end up using it, so (many props to the artist), I figured I wouldn't let such art go to waste.

On January 1, 1776, the Continental Army was reorganized in accordance with a Congressional resolution which placed American forces under George Washington's control. On that New Year's Day the Continental Army was laying siege to Boston which had been taken over by the British Army. Washington ordered the Grand Union flag hoisted above his base at Prospect Hill. It had 13 alternate red and white stripes and the British Union Jack in the upper left-hand corner (the canton).

In May of 1776, Betsy Ross reported that she sewed the first American flag.

On June 14, 1777, in order to establish an official flag for the new nation, the Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act: "Resolved, That the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation."

Between 1777 and 1960, Congress passed several acts that changed the shape, design and arrangement of the flag and allowed for additional stars and stripes to be added to reflect the admission of each new state.

* Act of January 13, 1794 - provided for 15 stripes and 15 stars after May 1795.

* Act of April 4, 1818 - provided for 13 stripes and one star for each state, to be added to the flag on the 4th of July following the admission of each new state, signed by President Monroe.

* Executive Order of President Taft dated June 24, 1912 - established proportions of the flag and provided for arrangement of the stars in six horizontal rows of eight each, a single point of each star to be upward.

* Executive Order of President Eisenhower dated January 3, 1959 - provided for the arrangement of the stars in seven rows of seven stars each, staggered horizontally and vertically.

* Executive Order of President Eisenhower dated August 21, 1959 - provided for the arrangement of the stars in nine rows of stars staggered horizontally and eleven rows of stars staggered vertically.
