Its probably the battery or charging the battery thats the issue. This is also not suitable for shipping to the US, and it also has a NiMH battery.

You can get those here in the US, not the exact same product but the same concept. I think you can find them in some enthusiast magazines or Hammacher Schlemmacher magazine. (sp?)

cool.

not TOO hard to do with a plane that weighs less than a pound or two. ;)

We have an airshow here in Portland (well, more technically Hillsboro) and a troop of RC guys bring out their models that are like an 1/8 scale (some bigass RC's) and do some amazing stuff. Not quite as radical as your link portrays but some cool stuff none the less. :)

this X-UFO thing is just a dragonflier with a EPP foam protective frame stuck to it (so it doesn't cut things with it's blades).

we've mentioned the dragonfliers here on the DBB before, but it must have been before the 2003 forum cleanout.
http://www.rctoys.com/draganflyer5.php

edit: i found a place that sells both the dragonflyer and the X-UFO within australia.
check the prices and you'll know which one looks better.

$250AU ...............X-UFO
$1299AU - $2099AU .........DragonFlyer

It might still need FCC clearance or even FAA.

I hereby declare this thread worthy of necroing.

I just got an indoor RC Chopper for Christmas, and I'm interested in all things flying at the moment!

I'm in the process of making a remote control sub. In the mean time, I may have to make myself an ultralight rubber powered indoor flyer.... I've been thinking about making one for a while, I just need to get the CA glue for it.

oh... submersable all the way- not even a static diver (it goes down with forward speed pushing down on the planes) but a dynamic diver. (ballast tanks flood) I'll make a post on it some time... I just need to make some more progress and get my hands on a digital camera.
