Pretty addictive.
It starts out slow at first, then things pick up as the stick men are joined by rolling artillery attacking your cannon, then later choppers fly in and attack, then combinations of all three types of forces try to kill you. You get to upgrade your attack speed or health or add three area bombs every three levels, and occasionally a bonus item will float down on a parachute that you have to shoot to acquire.
A few tips: Keep your mouse close to the cannon for quick turns, and use sweeping shots like your firing a pulse laser to take out multiple opponents at once. I took most of my upgrades as attack speed, a couple health increases and one bomb set.
I am currently on level 24, and have over 5000 kills. This is really killing time for me, I might have to suicide, I could probably play this forever, or until I have to pee.

Beat it first time through (30 levels)
As lobber stated eariler, the trick is hitting as much as you can with one shot. The laser (guess it's a laser) stays on for a moment after you let off the trigger, allowing you to sweep the cannon to just about anywhere on the screen to make multiple hits.
Thus you can hit everything on the screen with one shot.
Didn't make the top 10 on todays high score list though...
Conmputer defently began having trouble after lev 25.
