Fear - incoming messages and laptop infos?
I bought Fear yesterday, installed it today, started to play - and never hear any of the messages from the team coordinator or team mates, and if I connect to a laptop having a message for me, I don't know how to access that messages. There's nothing in the manual nor in the options menu about it.
How do I read/listen to this stuff?

Might be something with your sound. The information on those laptops, you never actually get to 'see', but rather your team coordinator simply tells you what he is reading on the info over your comm link. Its an audio thing with regards to laptops, communications with teammates and listening to phone messages. If you aren't hearing anything, might want to check your audio settings.

Not that strange, if he is using the wrong kind of output for his speaker system, the game might be playing a sound on the center channel that either doesn't exist or is not connected. I've seen this happen on my own system, music and various sound effects played, but anything from the game character was muted because it was sent to the center channel which is not available in SP-DIF unless you use DDLive! (AC3) encoding.

I searched in this forum

and various sound problems were fixed by changing the audio codec settings.

fwiw, there's a trick for getting more ammo. If you pick up a weapon that you are already carrying, you get a small amount of ammo -- but if you're not carrying that weapon type, you get more ammo. To get more ammo, first drop your weapon off to the side, pick up the new one, then pick up the one you dropped.
