Vavle hardware survey

Post by CDN_Merlin »

According to Valve's latest hardware survey this is the most popular collection of components at the moment:

Single Core Intel CPU @ 2.3 Ghz to 2.69 Ghz
NVIDIA GeForce 8800
2GB RAM and above
Windows XP
250GB Total HDD Space
16\" 4:3 Monitor @ 60Hz
Realtek AC97 Audio
Microphone enabled
DVD Drive
2MB DSL or Cable
Is your system better than those of the 1,724,108 people sampled? See the results here.
Phew, I'm happy I fall into this category.

I'm nowhere close to those specs. I'm still using a 6x00 generation video card...

Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz
4GB PC2 8500
8800 GT (512 MB)
500mb sata
2 DVD Burners
onboard sound, I'm too lazy to stick a card in, and it sounds fine anyway.
WinXP SP2
40\" 1920x1080
microphone? Pah.
5mbit dsl

I think it will do...I can play COD4 @ 1920x1080 full effects with stable framerate. Nintendo emulator works fine too!

That's gotta be among PC gamers, I think. Otherwise you wouldn't find the NVidia 8800 as the most popular graphics card.

Mine isn't that much different, either:

Quad-Core Intel CPU @ 2.4 Ghz (not overclocked yet)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS G92 512Mb
2GB RAM
Windows Vista Home Basic
250GB Total HDD Space
19" 4:3 Monitor @ 60Hz
Creative X-Fi audio
Microphone enabled
DVD Drive
8Mbit Cable
