Hard drive for Macbook now

Post by Wheeze87 »

Hey, after replacing my new PC's hard drive (very succesfully). I bought my macbook, which came with a paultry 80GB hard drive in august 2007, and i'me looking for a replacement hard drive

if found this one so far
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(38333)Sea ... -16MB.aspx

Ideally i would like at least 250GB and 7200rpm speed, as i hear they provide an impressive speed differece from the stock fujitsu 5400rpm drives...

My only worry is that there are compatability issues with some drives. anything i should watch out for?

THanks again guys.

if its sata and the same size you'll have no issues.

Note that faster spinning hard drives also draw more power.

Yeah I ahve heard that a 7200rpm drive decreases battery life by about 30mins, is this true? it doesnt bother me that much anyway.... i carry the power lead everywhere.

Cool, looks like i'll get that one!

The hard drive purchase is not problem

SATA up to 500GB 5400 or 7200 2.5in x 9.5mm

Now the installation is going to be the fun part....I hope you are ready for a long journey... and you better have a spludger handy
