Attention Mechwarriors!

Post by Sapphire Wolf »

Something awesome is coming SOON (IF you're interested) to Mektek.
Can you give it a guess?

(And for the last time... quit posting the link to Living Legends, I already knew about it, and I know it's gonna be cool! (If I install crysis, Don't know if my computer will handle it)

Strangely enough it's only being held up by legal issues at this point.

Unseens are probably going to be culled from the initial release.

Well technically, AT1:BT has no commercial connections.
It's too bad that the Macross based Unseens has to be pulled out from MP3.1/MP4 for obvious reasons that I already know.

So yeah, no Wasp, Archer, Rifleman, Warhammer, Marauder, and Marauder 2 within MP4/MP3.1

I'm actually a little surprised that the Marauder II was close enough to the original to warrant pulling out.

Many of those models are about due for a retcon anyhow. They've already given some of the models ex Battletech a facelift, so it's not out of the question.

It's now available!
Download MTX here and download the AT1 file with it-
http://www.mektek.net/mtx/beta/SetupMTX1.0.0.9.exe
Instructions here-
http://mektek.net/projects/at1/promo/installguide.html
There's a known issue with the Marauder IIC in the game, avoid using it for now until they fix the bug.

This reminds me that I need to try to get MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries to work. I hope Vista's compatability mode will help. Any input on that would be greatly appreciated!

Legal issues would include what exactly? Mech designs? The names? What would this program infringe upon. I'm interested to know.

AT1, whatever that is, has nothing to do with the MW4 mechs. Legal issues there stem from Battletech plagiarising designs in the 90s.

When you start your download, open your settings up. I set my min/max bandwidth to 50,000. Also increase the amount of people you can connect to. The Defaults are very conservative and will take hours by them.

You could do a fresh reinstallation of the game if you want to by reading this (just incase you forgot):
Vam @ Mektek wrote:How to uninstall MTX? AT1? Both?

There will be a patch issued to MTX shortly to allow do all this for you but in the meantime if you want to attempt it:

Step 1: Uninstall MTX
If removing MTX:

From Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall MTX

Step 2: Registry
Attached is a registry hotfix to remove MTX + AT1 from your registry.
Download the registry hotfix to remove both AT1 and MTX from your registry.
Registry hotfix to remove AT1 only: http://www.mektek.net/mtx/hotfixes/remove_at1.zip
Registry hotfix to remove AT1 AND MTX: http://www.mektek.net/mtx/hotfixes/remove_mtx_at1.zip

Specifically the keys are:
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\mektek.net\\MTX]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech]

If you just want to remove just AT1 from your system:
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech]

Step 3: INI File Edit
If you are removing AT1 from MTX then you will need to remove the following text from:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\mektek.net\\MTX\\loader.ini
[1]
Company=MekTek
Product=Assault Tech1: BattleTech
Version=2.3.0.10314
Language=English
GameArgs=
ServerArgs=
GamePath=Assault Tech1 BattleTech
GameExe=AT1L.exe
ServerExe=AT1L.exe
NewsGamePage=http://www.mektek.net/projects/at1/promo/
ForumsPage=http://www.mektek.net/forums/index.php?showforum=109

Step 4: Remove Directories
If you are removing both MTX and AT1 then delete:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\mektek.net\\MTX
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech

Otherwise delete just the AT1 directory:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\mektek.net\\Assault Tech1 BattleTech
And then after the game has been reinstalled, if you see the update button in the bottom right corner of the program window, click on it.

(BTW, if you want to learn more about the unseen, Here's the info on the Battletech wiki)

Nope, I found it. I just kept missing the obvious update button in the lower right corner. I'm used to right click update for programs similar to MTX.

I have to admit. The GUI leaves something to be desired for. Trying to get my joystick configed was a nightmare. Did it, but their poor labeling forced me to do trial and error. :roll:

Then like Zero demonstrated, somethings aren't big enough to identify... I'm STILL looking for that button. .. but then again, this is beta.

It's not in the game itself. It's in the super game launcher web browser thingy. MTX. Go to the games tab and you will find a big button labled Update.

I think that that button is supposed to update all of your games at once, but what if you don't want to? What if you only want 1 of your 2 games updated? The world may never know.

I never really had a problem with the joystick. I'm just glad I can use all of it because MW4 does not.

Can I get a link to a place where I can study what missile does what, and equipment, and so on? I'm sitting in the Mech Lab lookin at all of this stuff and half of it I know from MW2 andMW4, but the OTHER stuff.... :?

I found the button. I had to make a separate shortcut to my desktop. Why the installer did one and not the other is a bit puzzling. Obviously, this was overlooked.

Try this link for more info Zero: http://www.mektek.net/projects/at1/promo/support.html
