I had a horrible dream!

Post by Darth Wang » Thu Dec 10, 2015 7:10 am

The D2 level 16 boss was teleporting around an entire level and constantly ambushing me, and every time I destroyed it it started a countdown and I couldn't find the exit!

Damn man, some dream!

I do remember having dreams about Descent, but that was when I was a kid. It was about level 7, which I couldn't beat for some good months because of the boss. I would have dreams about there actually being a reactor in that level and the exit being situated where the blue door in the starting hub is. I was able to complete the level, I remember myself exiting, haha :D

When D1 first came out and I was playing it daily, as with D2, I used to dream about Descent. The only game I ever dreamed about.

Yes it does get into your head.
Descent, Diablo and UT are the only games I install first once I rebuild/reinstall Windows.

When I get my new system in the next month or so, D2x REbirth, D3, DU, Diablo 3, UT3 and Steam will be the first games installed.

I once had a dream where I was playing coop in a (nonexistant) Sirius-built level with Sirius and some other descenters. We had played through the level, with the structure spontaneously changing (in that way that dreams have). We had finally destroyed the reactor, and I forgot where the exit was. Naturally, I checked the automap. The timer hit zero. When I exited out of the map, I was still in the level (it was long past the point when I should have gotten the "You died in the mine" screen). Somehow it inspired me to build a level. I got bored after two or three rooms.

I also had two dreams (or was it one?) with some areas in a level. One was a boss arena - a circular, inner tube-like thing entered through hatches from above, with D1L27 boss in it and little to no lighting. It was very dark and desolate, and the textures were bright rock and facility-like. Nothing fancy. The other one was a boss area with the first boss, but it was quite a bit more elaborate, to the point where I'll never remember anything beyond vague half-shapes :(
