He respects the constitution TC. He's not going to convert everyone to Christianity or stone adulterers in spite of all of the fear mongering you hear from the left.

I'm a realist. There's a better than good chance that Trump will get the delegates for the nomination and therefore hand the election to Hillary...but, hope can spring eternal even in the darkest night. :P

Which is too bad because I find Cruz somewhat more trustworthy and likeable than Mrs. Clinton even if I agree on his policies less. I think a Hillary/Cruz matchup would be closer than some people are comfortable with.

actually, a Sanders v Cruz contest would be a referendum on the nature of our government that is sorely needed. Trump v Clinton will be the standard mud war with overblown personalities.

Yes it would. It would determine if our country has actually tipped into the abyss of socialistic decay or not.

It would show us in no uncertain terms if the majority of our citizenry want to totally hand over their lives to government or not.

In fact, you are very afraid of any reforms or changes. Even positive.

So? Only if it conforms to his ideals of a Christian Nation I'm will to bet. If you believe Cruz is really not wanting to push his Christianity on everyone else, why does this crazy fundamentalist religious billionaire family think so highly of Cruz? So highly that they gave his campaign a very large donation?

http://www.ibtimes.com/billionaire-back ... fs-2093950

Also, why did he announce his presidential candidacy at Liberty University, the bastion of all things politically Christian, which indicates he wants to pander to that type of religious voter? Personally, I wouldn't vote for him if you held a gun to my head.

And why it is you so worried about? I think, there is a much deeper historical interconnections and relationships of entire countries and nations, not to mention the proven outer periodic influence on mankind for such serious conclusions which you rush to do. Let's take another look at the map of world history and think about it.

Hey TB, you're an Atheist, right? Cruz is doing something positive for Atheists everywhere. His constant Jesus blathering may be turning more people into loyal Atheists.

Warning: Satire in link below.

http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz ... to-atheism

But on a serious side, Ted Cruz's father thinks all Atheists are either child molesters and/or perverts, or will naturally end up turning into child molesters because they aren't Godly people. And you'd like to see his son nominated president because you think he will protect the Constitution. Watch your back there.

indeed, TC. Cruz is only a supporter of certain PARTS of the Constitution, certainly not the entire document. That is the scariest of scenarios.

oh, one has utterly no idea what the 'other' GOP candidate really supports, or even understands at a Junior High school level. Also, the Dems push their favorite bits of the document, and overlook others, but at least accept the evolutionary aspects built in. Without that give and take, you end up,essentially, bound to a set of rules that simply won't work in the 21st century. There is much debate over whether the founders sort of intended the thing to become outmoded and subject to revisiting the whole Constitution over time. Jefferson surely saw it that way, it is unclear how many others agreed with him.

I personally don't give a rat's ass what the founding fathers thought. The Constitution is an agreement between the government and it's populace and needs to change as the people change, according to their values, beliefs, and what we learn about the world around us. The founders did their best at the time but could not imagine the world of today, nor see all the successes and shortcomings of the document they penned.

I agree, Vision, and so did Jefferson, who at least had the foresight to acknowledge that change would render obsolescence.

And Cruz adopting Fiorina for his VP slate shows he's desperately pandering to the women's vote. Fat chance. That ploy didn't work for Reagan when he first tried the pick-your-VP-before-the-convention either.

Plus, Cruz could of at least picked a better example from womankind than an arrogant, screw-up ex-CEO who pretty much trashed Hewlett Packard.

I finally got what you meant after watching the news last night. I didn't know Boehner had the balls. Cruz has burned every bridge on the road to making the tea party happy.

Speaking of reality, Trump is making Hillary look downright sane. Why Republicans keep feeding us that same tired old tax cut trickle down economics line that hasn't ever worked, I don't know. They must think we're all saps ripe for the plucking.
