How many CPU's / Instances?

Post by Lobber »

How many Instances are you running, IE, computers, cpus... bottom line, how many WU's are you processing at a time? The reason I ask is because I am only running one instance, one program, and processing one WU at a time, and I'm hovering around the edges of 20th (21st) place. Just wondering if its possible for me to improve my rank any further than that.

So you're processing 3 WU's at a time?

He was explaining to you how many WU's you do based on a hardware layout. Not specifying how many he is doing.

I have :

1 hyperthreaded single cpu => 2 WU's @ once
1 hyperthreaded dual cpu => 4 WU's @ once
5 non-hyperthreaded single cpu => 1 WU each => 5 total

Total : 11 WU's at all times

I think my CPU is hyperthreaded, but so far I have only been running one at a time. That graphical client won't let me run multiple instances of the program - how are you guys doing it?

At any given moment Im processing anywhere from 0-4 work units on my 4 computers depending on:

1. How hot it is in my room and

2. If my laptop is powered on or not.

1-XP1700 @ 2.2ghz (soon to be replaced)
1-XP1500
2-Celeron 700s
1-Duron 700

The 1500 runs maybe 10 hours a day, the others all run 24/7.

Snoopy. Everyone else.
Ditch the pretty one and use the console version.

benifits:
1) more stable
2) faster
3) Set as process so you never see it
