make "you have a new PM dude!!" more visible

we relaly need one of those popup PM things here.

get a message, it pops up.

the "you have 1 new message you stooge!" thing is hard to see. it doesn't flash or anything.

not everyone has the "email me when i get a new bannana message" optino enabled.d

how about a popup. or how about a flashing thingy. ANYTHINg to make it more visable when someone gets a PM. i don't wanna sit here freaking out that ppl arn't getting PMs when i send them, it's causing my family stress, it's draining my CHI, it's making the paint in my bathroom flake, and it's making global warming worse.

think of the bathroom ppl, it's horrible.

Topher, can you add a sound clip (bgsound="" or something of that sort) to that page that pops up when you get a new PM? It would be beneficial.

the sound stuff and popup stuff doesn't work in some browsers. And I can safely say that many users on this board do not use IE.

That being said, I have a solution. Make the text (link) red when you have something in your PM box.

yep it's not popping up, it must be a DBB -- MOZILLA FIREFOX issue. i have the DBB set as NOT blocking popups, but it's still not poping up.

RED would be a good start.

RED would be a good start.

Its called adding "www.descentbb.net" to your popup exception list.

Mozilla: Tools -> Popup Manager -> Manage Popups

FireFox (0.9.3): Tools -> Options (select Web Features)

EDIT: Added graphical examples for the lazy...

Haven't seen the red text yet, so I can't comment. I still don't understand why we can't stick a small, short wav in the page as a background sound (it can be done in Firefox). It would just make things that much easier.
