Xeons are here now. Notice that the serial numbers are in sequence. That Fing rules. Talk about matched sets :)

I always thought my system was "mid-range" material, but I guess it's actually pretty fast:

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe w/ nForce2
AMD XP Barton 2500 @ 2700
1gig Corsair XMS PC 3200 DDR RAM
(and even though it doesn't apply to folding, GFX 5950Ultra vid card)

I'm doin pretty dang good on the list for only having 1 machine (my laptop still hasn't completed a WU, so it doesn't count yet. :P )

Got my mobo and PSU in today. Procs should be here tomorrow, and my heatsinks are on backorder! :|

I got a Sparkle-branded FSP550-60PLN. It doesnt have SATA connectors or 4 foot cables, but it should do the trick :P Its freakin heavy too!

The mobo is teh sexay :)

Got the pinmod done today. (couldnt wait for Stress, heh.) Just have to insulate a pin on the Xeons when they get here, then the wait for who knows how long for the heatsinks to get here.

I'm actually surprised my crappy digital camera was able to get this good a picture. view full size, with description

Image

I decided to go with the 1.55v pinout. How-to here (scroll down to the table that says Default VID 1.300 U-Wire Mod (130nm Xeon). Hardest part was getting the @#$! tiny-ass wires in the correct holes.

Thats part of it. Go to the link I posted earlier (here if youre lazy). The point of inserting pins into certain holes to bridge them is to raise the CPU voltage. Different pin configurations yield different Vcores.

The moosemod refers to a way of forcing a higher default FSB speed. Go here for more info. On most mobos you have to do another pin mod to get it to work, but on the PC-DL you only need to change a jumper setting.
Note: This is a universal BSEL[1:0] mod that should work on motherboard using clock generator capable of 200FSB+. Note: You may use jumper position shown in figures below to configure different front side bus setting specifically for Asus PC-DL (No Pin Insulation Needed).
okay, i think i'm done editing now :P

:( That sucks. Are they from the same batch, at least?

And I too was impressed at the packing job, but considering how cheap they are they have to save money somewhere :P Thankfully I didnt have any bent pins.

Ace: Some mobos (like our PC-DLs) that use EPS12v PSUs have the 8pin 12v connector rather than the 4pin.
