Descent 2 Windows 95 Problem - Unable to set display mode: 2

Well, this is my problem.

I recently installed Windows XP on my PC.

Just after installing it, i test D2 W95 and ran very well.

However, after installing Directx 9, Every time i clik on the D2 W95 icon, it goes black the screen, then returns me to Windows XP and gives me this error:

Unable to set display mode: 2 [-1x-1x0].(err:80004001)

What can i do?
I've tested the compatibility mode on Win98/ME and 256 colors, and it didn't work. I've also tested d2x and it didn't run like i want (i don't like d2x)

Please, Help me!!

I like a lot Descent 2, so please?

I may have to try this when I get the opportunity... I think I have more or less the same setup.

But I do have a couple of questions - what video card do you have, and are the drivers up to date?

I have a SiS 630/730 On-board video card. It's not the great card

On some programs i get an error that says something about overlay not supported, and i have the latest drivers.

My PC is a Pentium III 866MHZ and 128 MB RAM (16 used by the video card).

Ah! This machine has precisely the same video system. Descent 2 does work on it, but I haven't tried the Win95 version...

I'm not sure, but i think that maybe the XP drivers of the SiS have something wrong or incomplete.

In Windows 98, the SiS 630 had a 3D rendering setup and now it only have Video and Gamma setup (and many inactive options of TV Output).

Maybe that have something to do with the problem.
