I'm In

Post by Top Gun »

I finally decided to put up with the fan noise that my crappy Dell makes and loaded up the console version. :) Don't expect too much from me, since I don't leave my computer on overnight and I've only got one rig (3.0 gigs, though), but I figured I might as well. Even though the processor has HT, I'm not going to commit to running two simultaneously; I tried once, and the fan sounded like a jet turbine. :P I used that handy registry hack to get the advanced features to run on startup. I just have one question, though: while running the console version, is there any way to see the progress on the current WU? I know that the graphical version shows it, but I was just curious.

You can use outside software like http://fahstats.sourceforge.net/ or http://fahmon.silent-blade.org/ to check on the progress of your console workunit.

Or you can just read the FAHlog.txt file that's in the folder where you placed the console program.

That's what I do. It's to me, better than having a whole extra program running taking up memory and a few CPU cycles.

Interesting...working on an 1140. According to the WU site, it's a 600-pointer. Guess I got lucky. :)

Thanks. I just completed my first WU; now working on another 600-pointer. :D

Edit: Sweet, starting out at 57 out of 68. I love cutting in line. :P
