Would You get the Pyro-GX as a tattoo

Post by Kida »

Long story short,One of my best friends is a tatto artist and has offered to give me a tattoo for free. I dont have any other tattoo so this would be my first. I'm not sure what i should get, but seeing that im 20 and have been playing and loving Descent for more than half my living life i thought it would be apropriate to put a part of it on me.
But im still kinda hesitant to even get a tattoo?
Would you guys get a pyro tattoo?

Im thinking along the lines of this angle.

thats gonna be a big piece to actually make it look right, and unless your friend is one very incredible artist (like making a tatoo of a person look exactly like a photo type artist)It jusy isn't gonna turn out good at all.

I vote no.

I'd get the shield orb, definitely, if it could be done well.

Since getting into LA Ink TV show I have actually thought about getting a tattoo and using the Pyro for one.

Heh, I wouldn't get one period... Maybe if I was given $1 mil. That way I can pay to have it removed.

The only tatoo I ever considered is the biohazard icon on the web betw. my thumb & index finger (I hate shaking hands..)

Keep in mind that whatever it will be it will stay there and age w/ you.

If you got the Pyro, it would look good from top view, with the nose pointing either up or down. Or maybe a front view.

I would advise against getting any tattoo at all. What happens when you're 40, Descent has been dead for several decades (facing facts it is all but that now), and it ... basically doesn't make sense any more?

I'm aware that tattoos can be removed now, but it's generally better not to do it in the first place... you don't need them, and a lot of people don't like them.

Cheeky sod!!!

A fantastic artist has come into my area, he's cheap as chips, does beautiful work and is funny bloke to boot. Whilst a lot of my mates are getting intricate wizards and dragons painted all over themselves, ive decided to have the Man Utd logo emblazoned on me arse.

40 is the new 20 sunshine!

I'm 30 now, so how will Descent have been dead for "several decades" when I'm 40?

(And you can't claim it's dead right now, since people still play on a daily basis. Heck, there will probably be a bunch of folks in NightmareCastle and CreepOut tonight!) :D

Personally, I think a shield orb 'tat' would still be cool, even if it didn't make sense to someone else thirty years down the road.

I've never wanted a tattoo...

Until now...I want a shield orb and an energy sparklie! I'm thinking Left Shoulder Blade.

For real. No kidding.

Where can I find good quality artwork? Foil are you with me on this?

The energy sparkle?! Ugh, no.

I am thinking of the shield orb on my right shoulder. For good quality work it would be too much $$ at the moment, though. (Unless someone knows a really good artist in the Denver area willing to do it for cheap.)

I really like Rake's version, though I'm not sure it would translate well into ink:

We'll hopefully, with the amount of work that's going into D2X-XL, Decsent will never die.

And also, i have alway's thought that a tattoo has to really mean something to you, I mean i've had my fair share of life changing things happen to me. but still nothing so significant enough that i would happily have a tattoo symbolise it. But mabey i'm not the tattoo sort of guy, and i'm only 20 so hopefully many more life changing instances to come :) .
If it makes you feel good, go for it dude. If you asking people if they think you should get a pyro drawn on you, your probably doing it for the wrong reasons, and you don't really want it...

If that somebody is your future employer, it's a very good reason.

If your boss doesn't like you, because of something YOU like, obviously you wouldn't want to work there either.

So it kinda weeds out shallow idiots, saves you from having to deal with them if they go running for the hills coz you have a zomg pyro tattoo.

- And nothing of value was lost -

have you ever heard of the term: \"If heaven is full of people like you, i don't want to do there\" ?

Or this comic sums it up nicely:

I don't want to get a tatoo. And if I did, I wouldn't want to get a Descent tatoo. But if I did, I'd definitely go for the energy orb!

Well, it largely depends how obvious it is... a little thing like a pyro probably wouldn't be noticed ... but there are particular jobs (e.g. being a salesman) where having significant amounts of tattoo work would definitely hurt your job prospects.

Just use some common sense... if it's likely to be an issue, don't do it, there are other things you could get than a tattoo...

I voted \"Your a Fu&%ing Idiot\" because you should have used \"You're\". ;)

I think the GX would look best from the directly facing you angle IMO.

Not to mention that the pain of having it removed is just a tad more than actually getting it. ;) Having a laser pointed at me to boil ink out of my skin would not be the high point of any day. :P Even after the tat is gone, you're stuck with the scar of the removal procedure.

get hattrick to tattoo it on one of his hogs, then hang the skin on your wall when it's done.
(saw this on some modern art show)
