Thx to Delia and Bubba for hosting servers and to Behemoth for helping with organization.

gg's to everyone

To all you fools who didn't show up... (grabs nuts)

Spaceboy and I had a pretty interesting final match. He took a Phoenix into Indika and promptly racked up (I think) a 7-1 lead. Completely threw me for a loop!

I think he lit me on fire with napalms about 10 times as well; I spent a good portion of that match on fire

I woulda been the one to get wasted by spaceboy the second time if I had been force-fed Megas a couple times in a row in stadium after I respawned.. Ah well, me and 007GUY had a good first game too, and the one with Cord, which spanned two servers and three sessions...arg.

It looked like you and 007 had a really good game, 007 with a 4-0 lead and you got it to 9-9, was kinda funny in the irc room haha.

My Bad - but RRL issues come first, then again I put up some servers before i had to go back out for my meds

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

Congrats DT!
It's never good to wake up in the shrubs naked, you either got way too drunk, or your azz is a werewolf.

In the tourney I assume that those who play will spawnkill at any time, I just take it for granted... I didn't know we had an option for that... Just a pit-peeve of mine...

Spawnkilling is an important part of the 1v1 game. If you kill someone, you earn the right to have them at a temporary time of weakness.

It's like getting your change when you're shooting hoops.

I could dispute that, but this is a thread for the results of the Tourney...

If you don't want spawnkilling, go to duel. Nowhere else will grant you that mercy.

Spawnkilling is a huge part of 1v1. It's all about gaining momentum and keeping the pressure on if you can.

The really awesome players are the ones that are so damn hard to spawnkill

Yea, when I 1v1 behe I'm always the most scared (and therefore weakest cuz im not thinking striaght) after I die. And that's not a coincidence lol... it's a strategy.

Once the game has started, you should spawnkill at will, particularly in 1v1 or anarchy.

However, if you're playing in a 1v1 game, it's lame to gather weapons or shoot the other ship before they've started moving for the first time, when they might not actually be connected to the game. Wait for both players to be in the server and ready to go before you start gathering up weapons and shooting your sitting duck opponent. (Back in the D1/IDL days, it was common to sit still and wait for both players to say "go" before you started moving, in case someone had a control, sound, or setup issue.)

In team games it's best to go to obs mode and wait for the teams to be set etc.
1v1 it's ok to just sit. Don't move.

I'll x3 that in general, but with the cavéat that if I know my opponent is the type to avoid early-kills, I'll try to do the same.
(I don't like the term "spawnkills", because it doesn't account for your 3 seconds of invulnerability, which is really quite a bit of time.)
