Theres helicopters everywhere right now. Im pretty pissed off right now. School and dorms are in lockdown. I wonder if I can leave for the weekend.
2 months ago the week of finals there was a racial threat written in the bathroom in the dorms. Finals was pushed for a day, which resulted me in staying an extra half week because of the switch of the scheduling. Now this.
My friend down the hall was in the next building over. He was leaving class just when the shooting started and he saw a kid run towards the building after getting shot in the leg. He didnt know what was going on so he continued to head back to the dorms.
my roomate just got a call from somebody who told him that his friend was one of the victims and is in the hospital right now. He got shot in the back of the head. I tried to talk to him but he stormed out and looked very upset. This is not good.
At my college nothing is ever locked and seeing several security guards walking around with radios do nothing to make me feel comfortable. It's sad that the ambitions of good people are too often snuffed out because some lowlife had a bad day.
Instead of locked doors, we just hire more Psychologists.
My parents went to Northern Illinois University, so this is a bit of a shock. But what is a bit more alarming (if I heard correctly) is this is the fourth school shooting in a week? What is going on out there?
