A little levity? :)

Post by VonVulcan »

I can't take credit for this, wish I could.

---------------

My why I'm voting Democrat letter to the editor

I'm voting Democrat because like most Americans I trust Lawyers more than
anyone else; I think only lawyers should run the government, and all the
Democrat Leaders are lawyers: Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, John
Edwards, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Leader Harry Reid, Bill Clinton,

Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry, to name just a few. (Al Gore dropped out of

Law School, so I don't trust him as much, except on Global Warming.)

I'm voting Democrat because the Democrats support the trial lawyers and I
think this country needs more lawsuits and less tort reform. And I don't
believe the trial lawyers' contributions have a thing to do with it.

I'm voting Democrat because Congress has done such a wonderful job under
Democrat leadership the last two years, that I want a lot more of the same.

I'm voting Democrat because I want to get my health care from the same
competent, efficient, cost-effective, customer-service-focused folks who run

the US Post Office, FEMA and the state Department of Motor
Vehicles.

I'm voting Democrat because Sen. Obama has promised to cut the taxes of 95%
of the people, including the 30% who don't pay taxes.

I'm voting Democrat because Sen. Obama has promised to take away the secret
ballot in union elections, and I think the union bosses should know if a
working man or woman is with them, or against them.

I'm voting Democrat because Sen. Obama has over three years experience in
the Federal Government, and \"Hope\" is a great strategy.

I'm voting Democrat because Sen. Obama voted \"present\" instead of \"yes\" or
\"no\" over 120 times in the Illinois State Senate, and I think we need a
decisive president.

I'm voting Democrat because I think that drilling for American oil is
foolish, when we can buy oil from the Middle East.

I'm voting Democrat because I think windmills (except off Hyannis) are a
better answer to reliable, clean energy than Nuclear Energy.

I'm voting Democrat because I'm for putting up barriers to free trade, as
they did in 1930 with the Smoot-Hawley bill. That made things much better
then.

I'm voting Democrat because I miss the high unemployment, inflation and
interest rates of the Jimmy Carter years.

I'm voting Democrat because I think this is the perfect time to raise the
Capital Gains tax and drive investment money out of the stock market.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a
gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas
at 15% isn't.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of

spending the money I earn than I would, and I want to spread my wealth
around to those people who are able, but not too ambitious.

I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is
offended by it.

I'm voting Democrat because, when we pull out of Iraq, I trust that the bad
guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it
will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in
ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about restoring partial birth
abortions so long as we keep all death row murderers alive.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe that small businesses should not be
allowed to make a profit. They need to break even and give the rest away to
the government for redistribution to people who didn't start businesses.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe the law is what judges say it is, and
not what legislators -- or the constitution says.

I'm voting Democrat because the media would call me a racist if I didn't.

I'm a democrat because while I think increasing spending and raising taxes too much can harm the economy, I am convinced that increased spending while giving out tax cuts to the rich will destroy it.

I’m a democrat because I recognize that our legal system is the best out there, but far from perfect, so I don’t want to bet people’s lives on it.

I’m a democrat because I can’t think of a single man, woman, or child, that would be harmed if Gays were allowed to be married.

I’m a democrat because I don’t want to see our nation’s daughters getting botched abortions in Mexico.

I’m a democrat because I think the war on drugs is the meal ticket of your common day thug.

I’m a democrat because helping a man to his feet is the morally right thing to do, and saves the tax payer in the long run.

I’m a democrat because I see no use for automatic weapons for killing deer or protecting ones home.
Etc….

I know it’s a joke thread, but, you did bring up Michael Savage. ;)

I'm voting Democratic because they so clearly understand the difference between automatic and semi-automatic firearms that everything else they say must be true. I want such landed gentry ruling my life.

I want to counter Goob’s points because it gives me a chance to espouse my views without defending any stupid politicians.

I’m conservative because, the income tax system is immoral, inequitable & discriminational.

I’m conservative because, I believe we can always improve our legal system.

I’m conservative because, I believe that marriage is the basis for a stable environment in which to raise a family, and not a device to provide someone’s pleasure or happiness.

I’m conservative because, I believe all life has value.

I’m conservative because, I believe the war on drugs is a complete sham. (omg agreement!)

I’m conservative because, I believe in creating an environment of opportunity & prosperity, and not need & dependence.

I’m conservative because, I know the difference between a semi-automatic & a fully automatic weapon.

Nancy Pelosi, in an effort to prove she can say anything, no matter how ridiculous, and the press will accept it without question wrote:Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from there. But I do tell you that if the Democrats win and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan," - Nancy Pelosi.

You're right. It's not from Republicans... it's from radically right-wing Republicans! (looked at the front page of the site for 1 min and couldn't find anything to the contrary)

Oy. How does \"Democrats win and have substantial majorities\" = \"more bipartisan\" ? :?

The Democrats already have the majority in Congress (it's a Democrat controlled Congress currently, no?) ... and she indicates they don't have substantial majorities?

That simply doesn't make sense. But then, she never made sense to me anyway.

Winning AND having \"substantial majorities\" = In control.

That ain't bipartisan.

Pelosi's Idea of bi-partisanship is shoving crap down the the throats of those across the aisle.

Steal my sign...go ahead punk, make my day.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill was tired of someone stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard. Turschak, with a degree in electrical engineering, hooked up a third sign to a power source for an electric pet fence Monday and also put up a surveillance camera.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that a 9-year-old boy with an Obama-Biden sign grabbed the McCain-Palin sign and got a jolt on Tuesday.

The boy's father, Andrew Noble, upset that his son had been shocked, showed up at Turschak's door. Soon an Orange County sheriff's deputy also showed up at the Turschak's home.

Noble said his son just wanted to see how the sign was put together. Turschak said the boy intended to swap out the signs.

Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass said he doesn't plan to file charges.
