Thanks Thorne. I think part of the reason their aim is so good is they all have 0 ping. Kind of hard to miss with that low of a ping. :)

I was always planning on working on navigation and roaming, picking up spew, secondary usage, etc.,. but life has recently dealt me quite the kick in the ass, and I am still recovering and picking up the pieces.

I have always been open to sharing the code with anyone who has a passion for descent and good coding skills, but that has not materialized. The best I can imagine happening is for me to get some time, and working on it again, although in reality, there is absolutely no free time atm and no real incentive to finish the code.

I always thought once navigation and roaming were completed, the entire AI scripting would and could be implemented in any game. I fully intended to have the botz as realistic as possible, and even implement taunting, but alas, I do not have the time atm.

I am glad that everyone likes the botz (well almost everyone) as they really are a creation of love. I hope they provide the necessary entertainment value and maybe even keep d3 alive a bit longer.

No time? I know how that goes. Maybe you'll get a second-wind when things settle down for you. Even if you don't, they'll be enjoyed as-is. After I discovered what they were, I joined back up just to play them for a while. Lot of fun.

I had a vision for D3 AI at one point several years ago, but alas I'm more of a web-engineer than a programmer (web-designer by practicality, programmer at heart). Sucks that there aren't 48 hours in a day. ;)

you know what is funny now

real players masking themselves on the server as BOZ players

It would be nice to have an auto-kick function.... with a \"you are not worthy to wear [BOZ] Colors......\"

i play as better than a [BOZ]
that way theres no confusion ;)

Just look for the \"bot\" sending text macros every 10 seconds and you'll have blown B's cover. ;)

I would like there to be more servers running these boz actually, since no one seems to be playing much these days.

Teach them to play CTF?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking for.

If the server "just runs the robots", you couldn't play.

If the server allows human players, then there's always the possibility of someone else joining.

... or are you asking someone to put up a server which somehow allows only you? If so, you'll need to host your own server off the trackers.

I think what she's asking for is what Bubba suggested:

Not sure you could do this, but it's a great idea.

I guess all but Duper missed the point

It's nice when people think outside the box instead of only living in it!!

It should be as easy as seeing who or what is collecting spew.

It will always be 5/6 unless there are 6 human players

When a human player joins 1 bot leaves, and as soon as a human player leaves a bot joins it always stays 5/6

until there are not more botz

Sounds like SuperSheep doesn't have much time to devote to it, but those sound like reasonable options.

Personally that seems a pretty silly idea. I guess if you can host a bunch of different servers with robots it'd be ok, but I definitely don't want the primary server to only hold one human. For example, IceHammer and I had a couple fun ones a few months ago vs. the the bots and each other. And pretending to be a bot when I know that at least one of the other players is human is so much fun.

I got a question. I've seen a BOZ unload more than 10 rounds of the MD into everyone on a map that does not have MD ammo. Do they have unlimited ammo?

Don't feel bad Bettina, I tried to give them advice on dodging missiles  I just thought they didn't want any since they didn't answer.

It would be better to use [BOT] instead but it looks like that was taken.

Holly crap, those things where bots? I guess that explains how they have laser like Vauss skills but don't know how to dodge missiles...

Very impressive work SuperSheep, they blow away anything Outrage ever put in the game.

BTW, is there a list of the bots along with their skill levels? I swear one or two of them where people, just because they couldn't even hang with the other bots.

Thanks MrP! The botz all use the same code, but their individual skill levels are set through an external INI file. Properties such as aiming and dodging can be altered. Do_Checkor has names for the different bot sets he uses.

Yes, very nice job with BOZ, I try to dogfight them, but always end up getting pissed and popping them with smarts

If you hand me the Names of the players I'll dig it out for you. I just don't really want to show off the panties of them all ;-)

The \"bad ones\" are Marsellus, and MrWolf followed by Butch then Vincent and Jules. And just as in the quote: \"Zed\" is dead baby, Zed is dead. ;-)

Played my first MP games tonight in many years - and they were against the BOZ! Had a good time. I am very impressed with the setup of the server and the actions of the different 'players'. Great for practice and entertainment.

Kudos to the developer(s) !!!

Maybe we could share some BOZ demos in this thread? Like, your longest killing strike against the bots.

I had 25 on the easier ones when they were in Ascent awhile ago. I could probably kill even more if I actually tried for it, and Behemoth/Zero/Darktalyn/Ryujin could easily do even better.

i practice with the botz with 1.0 kb ramping, otherwise it's not worth playing at all
btw, can we get the boz in a level like vamped, athena, nocturnal or d-day?

2 times I have killed 100 BOZ in a raw. One in Stadium and one in Ama Arena if I dont remember wrong.

I would like to see them in Elysium :)

I've been saying goodnight to the BOZ' LMAO! wondered why they never used secondaries. I thought it was some BOZ clan pledge so I never use secondaries when I play them. Also wondered why they were always playing (no lives). My wife guessed that they were monkeys in a psych experiment. It willbe nice to use secondaries again.

lol...

don't let them use missiles... or they'll just b0at it up like 95% of the human players. :P
