The first section states that it does not subvert any constitutional rights.
The rest of it says if you are going to engage in planning to overthrow the government you must register first.
(I wonder if the Obama administration is registered yet?)

Not sure what purpose this serves other than to give the police a law to use to justify arresting and holding radical group members on the spot while the registration of the group is checked out. Kind of a cover your ass law that buys you time to figure out what the hell Abdulla bin wannabe laddin is up to when you find him studying the shopping mall blueprints or something.

It also says:

(2) \"Organization subject to foreign control\" means every corporation, society, association, camp, group, bund, political party, assembly, body or other organization, composed of two or more persons, which comes within either of the following:

(a) it solicits or accepts financial contributions, loans or support of any kind directly or indirectly from, or is affiliated directly or indirectly with, a foreign government or a political subdivision thereof, an agent, agency or instrumentality of a foreign government or political subdivision thereof, a political party in a foreign country or an international political organization

I don't think it excludes domestic entities, it just specifies that foreign ones are included: \"Every member of a subversive organization, or an organization subject to foreign control\"

That said, guessing at the motives behind this, I think the real name for this law was originally \"Lets lock up the batshit crazy muslims and their followers Law\" but someone made them change it so the ACLU can't make the judges throw the cases out of court.

Because the Obama/Bush/Clinton administrations have somehow been subverting the government?

Oh, wait. They are the government.
