Well, I got my Collectors Edition today and have played it. Almost to the end of where the beta was. The box is amazing. The USB key has Diablo 2 plus LOD on it. There is a book on the artwork of Diablo 3, a DVD with the music and 3 guest passes for people to try it up to the Skeleton king quest.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

isn't this just like... Skyrim without the 1st person perspective?

Not really. I just beat Skyrim a few days ago (main quest and all the guilds quests). Diablo is controlled by clicking - it's more of a hack n slash (i.e. more enemies, but more powers)

Just beat the Skeleton King in Diablo III - that's the end of my guest pass :(

Um... about the biggest thing the games have in common is that they are both technically action RPGs. But past that they're totally different. Skyrim is intended to be an immersive, sandbox-style game. Diablo 3 is all about combat and lots of it. (Or, to put it another way, "blowing ★■◆● up".) Oh, and the loot pinata thing.

It's much better after the SK.

I still think Neverwinter Nights 1 was the best multiplayer RPG ever made. Diablo 3 doesn't even come close (well, it is more pretty...).

NVN was way more involved than Diablo ever was. Diablo is click n move. NVN has more things to do. You have to rest before using a spell again etc. To much involvement for me.

Just beat it on Normal - was pretty fun. Maybe could've had a few harder bosses. I'm sure Nightmare will be a challenge.

im on inferno right now.... imo d3 has way better gameplay than the first 2 but the story felt rushed and the graphics killed the gothic atmosphere. Its a good game i just feel like its not "diablo".

I'm in nightmare right now and I love Di3. It isn't the same as the first 2 and there are some things I don't like. Not being able to customize stats sucks. Only having a few active spells sucks. Graphics are good to me. Act 3 was my favorite. Act 2 Belial is to tough. They need to tone him down a bit.

I'm not sure I'm hardcore enough to play through 4 times. Have too many other games to try! But still, this is on my top 10 list.

Well I'm not a fan of RPGs... but I can't stand RTSs...
So even though I've never played either game I'll have to go with Diablo.

The game now sucks hard. Officially. You now have to spend all your time grinding gold so you can afford repairs when you go to try and progress.

My wizard is only on nightmare and my Monk still on Normal. Yeah, repairs are a pain but I believe Blizzard will change it to lower the cost.

I don't really care enough at this point. As a Designer, Diablo III is horrible. It's the skinner box that was Diablo II amped up to over 9000%.

Looking forward to Mechwarrior online. :)

Oh I was so happy when I heard about MW reboot but sadden by it being online only. I don't really play multi anymore and I prefer the single campaign.

I am really not a Fan of how they gate the difficulty levels.

I passed the first two acts on Inferno -- but then got bored with it. Yes, its alot more challanigng, but I've seen most everything by now twice. There is no drive to push myself to see whats next -- i know whats next. It started to feel way to grindy

They should let you start at the difficulty you want so you can spend time enjoying the game.

Having you start with a super easy mode just spoils the game for you.

That's just how all the diablos work.

There's who groups of people that don't like diablo3
Those that are hardcore fans of the previous games and hate change and people who just don't like diablo.

I'm in the second group.

The game is just clicking monsters till they die. Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, ok... next monster Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, ok... next monster Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click,

Did you do D1 or D2?

The grindy part wasn't playing through it on inferno... The grindy part was farming bosses for decent gear....
