If only we had a Descent that looked this good...

Star Citizen continues to amaze me. Watch the downloadable video (warning, it is 1GB) and you will see real-time in-engine graphics of the game. If you have a 4K monitor, then you should see even more detail than the rest of us folks, for the video is rendered in 4K resolution. This is where PC gaming should be headed.

We all know about star citizen- please link a manageable res size for people who know better than to jump on 4K's hype (using old technology) so they can milk the consumer with old fab process and just a new circuit board

4k TV without display port connectors and only HDMI ...... Wake up "Mooooooo!"

RSI channel on YouTube will suffice

Love this game!

Quit linking color videos for those of us who haven't jumped on the whole bandwagon with color monitors. "baaaa"

Dwarf fortres is the shyat.

Here's a picture of my dog next to my cat, in the game:

All joking aside, star citizen looks nice!!

Proper native 4k monitors are still some distance away, the few on the market right now I've heard of are either limited to 30Hz refresh maximum (yuck) or are virtually split as two separate monitors which makes them work badly or not at all for a lot of uses. Not to mention that there is a slowly gathering storm of higher or outright variable refresh rates (nvidia g-sync) which on 4k would need way more bandwidth than even displayport has.

I get all giddy and stuff when people start to talk about data bandwidth....

When you get to real 4k + resolution multimedia you also start to face some pretty heavy storage requirements, too.

This game has raised 25 million cash so far. Impressive.

25 million and climbing.

I for one want to play it with the Oculus Rift and hopefully by the time I get that opportunity I'll have a rig powerful enough to actually run it.

30Hz is over HDMI

MTS - something I have mentioned previously on this board I. Reference to Display Port

DP 1.2 4K using MTS ( better standards on the way with HDMI 1.4/2.0 thanks VESA group just waiting on MFG's to stop milking it and move with progress )

nvidia linky since nVidia was mentioned
