Through the years I wrote to dbb admin to recover my account but not get a response. So I came with this new username. You may recall that I believed I saw ice on Mars. It wasnt an insane claim. Hello everybody!

Yeah, I joined about a year after you left.

This is how long you were active: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=Se ... 07%2C+2004+
About five years. In those five years you made 72 posts. That's about one a month. Warning to all: This is what happens when you have a life outside the internet.

As for me, I make about 700 posts per year for the past ten years and none of them are worth reading. Dedication, my friend.

edit:

FYI: the user "Sigma" is actually a bot programmed by the mod, Jeff. It passed a touring test, but can make grammatical errors or not make sense at all. It's programmed to repeat Russian propaganda. It's very good.

Isaac, thanks for the stats. Now I rarely play Descent, I am waiting for the new one. One can not believe but It is the only game I played since D1. I am interested in physics and doing experiments. In recent months I found a way to float magnets in air (not like the Levitron). The principle is similar to 'inverted pendulum'. Specially spinning magnets visuals are eye catching, like energy orbs of D.

The generated noise by magnetic impulses is also interesting. May such a noise can be embedded in D: Underground.

Krom, what's the largest pixel size I could have for an avatar? Sigma's picture is funny, but it would lose the pertinant details once it was down-sized to what I'm using now.

Sigma, did you ever watched the movie Blade Runner (1982)? If so what do you think? For me it sad that could be a conflict between humans and replicants.

Harrison Ford. Much more suave, at least in Blade Runner, The Fugitive and Star Wars.

We're getting closer to that reality every day, and it's a little scary. Our newer cars are already thinking for themselves, and they can be hacked now too.

It's true. Harrison Ford a charmer :)
I do not like Blade Runner, because I do not like stories of this type. Although Robocop, Predator, Screamers I can watch endlessly. Transformers, Oblivion liked.

By the way, you have not yet watched Призрак? In my opinion, a good movie.

Movie is happening in 2019. Not too far. However we dont still air vehicles witout propellers or wings. This is because science is driven by politics.

Blade Runner required the movie viewer to think about what was going on in the story, not to just sit there and watch mindless violence. I even enjoyed the old Blade Runner game that was out years ago. But I agree, it's sometimes just fun to sit there, zone out and eat popcorn.

As for that Russian movie, I don't have the ability to stream movies. I still have a slow connection. I'm going to try to upgrade to 20 Mbps when possible, but even that speed is not that much better. Stupid telecoms.

We really need to develop antigrav technology for flying cars and computer control for piloting them. Flying cars like airplanes is way too risky and the air traffic control would be a nightmare if everyone did their own driving. In fact, self-driving ground cars scare me at the moment, given the current development of software.

In my opinion there are movies with more profound subjects than in Blade Runner.

If at least one month you change your tariff at 70 Mbps (in Moscow I pay for this rate is 500 rubles (7.8 USD), you can download from torrent trackers, so many movies, serials, TV shows, music and audio books that this stock you have enough for six months. And at the same time without any problems, you can watch movies online.

These 2 minutes are given more food for thought than a 2 hour Blade Runner, IMO.
Blade Runner is the only movie that you like?

Stablity solutions for magnetic coupling/levitation. Beside levitation applications, looking possibily of such stable magnetic coupling between spinning magnetic bodies having solutions in particle physics. There are few research in particle physics where magnetic interaction is the major actor. However as shown on these experiments the phenomena is very rich, at least comparable to orbital dynamics which is basis of most of physical systems. For example in superconductivity puzzle such magnetic interactions may point to new directions.

Quite an interesting study.

Are you looking for a solution only by empirical methods or also own theoretical? If so, what kind of theoretical methods (or maybe combination of them) show the highest efficiency for the base of the experiments?

It would also be extremely curious to see these processes with superconductors, if you were doing such experiments.

And in what area could have a practical application of the results of your work, in your opinion, in case of success?
