Delicious irony would be a ruling from the lower courts that he was ineligible and a 4-4 split at the Supreme Court which would uphold that ruling.

I seriously doubt the court would waste their time, on a case that only affects a microscopically small minority of people.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you become a Canadian citizen, you have to renounce your prior citizenship...which is what Cruz's mother did. Not sure if she did this before of after Ted was born. If she did before, would Ted still be a citizen of the US?

woody, not sure you are correct, but if citizenship were renounced prior to birth, the answer is No.

No, both Canada and the U.S. allow dual citizenship. In fact, it's extremely expensive and difficult to give up your U.S. citizenship.
