Losing fingers scares me as f***..

Yeah and they weren't sliced off, totally mashed in some gears but still attached... the pre-surgery pics are pretty graphic and not something I was expecting.

My dad had a finger crushed in a hydraulic log splitter, in the flat end between the log and the plate. 50,000 pounds of blunt pressure, popped it like a grape on a grocery store floor. He didn't lose the finger, but the two bones at the end were crushed beyond recognition and are fused now, so the finger doesn't bend anymore. Definitely not an experience I would wish on anyone.
