Just got a "New" car, what do you guys drive?

Post by Nexus_One »

I just bought a '95 BMW M3. The car is absolutely incredible, almost as if it had been stored in a glass box for the last 9 years. The paint is perfect, the wheels have absolutely no road rash, and the leather looks better than my old '01 330Ci. This car screams too.

I feel like a kid in high school again, too much fun. I wish I had a place to host pictures, I'd post some because the car is almost perfect.

So what does everyone else drive? Pics?

Battlebot, that's a classic! But 140 BHP out of the V8? Are you running it on 4 cylinders?

I drive 1986 RX-7 series 4, turbo, rebuilt 13B, 3mm apex seals, ported and polished with 3" single exhaust. It'd undoubtedly be illegal in the USA because it is very very loud, and you can smell the petrol fumes when you stand behind it... :)

Currently shopping for 1988-1990 Porsche 928 S4 - 5.4 litre GT car. Looking to spend around $20-22,000 on one. Not bad considering they were priced at around $200,000 dollars brand new!

The reason is that you have to pur money into it for getting it fixed.. :P Same happens w/ old Dino Ferraris in europe (and old Porsches of course)..

There was a thread on my new ride not too long ago. It degenerated into a discussion of gas prices, but it was originally about the car :)

2004 Chevy Aveo LS 4-door.

1.6L 4-cylinder, 5-speed manual, 35 mpg highway/ 30 city, air conditioning, power everything, decent stereo with CD/mp3, it's pretty roomy (even when I have my friend who's 6'6" tall and his friend who's gotta be 6'2" tall and over 320 lbs in the car with me, it's not cramped for anyone) and it's pretty fun to drive. I think we just broke 1400 miles on it...

And, like merlin, I've got http://transit.metrokc.gov as backup.

Kumba, hurry with the pics :)

I drive a non-pimped out dark blue '83 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. It runs well enough to get me to the Chicago LAN (and hopefully back, as well) :D

Just read the road test on the 3s (Hatchback) in newest Road&Track... sounds like a sweet ride, esp. for the price.

This was a '88 323GTX that I owned and raced. (Ice Racing and Gymkhana)

1993 Bonnieville SE in Good condition. Im currently working on "restoring" it to bring it up to excellent condition, but it is already well taken care of and looks great for a 10 year old car. :) (Much better than the other bonnievilles I see on the road!)

Just got to patch some paint spots here and there with a toothpick, put in a powered air filter to give it some juice, and mayby get a new muffler. There's a metal panel strip than runs acrosss under the doors which is HEAVILY corroded, so I expect to fix that sometime. Im also thinking of adding a supercharger to the engine but I dont know the work that it requires and it may be impossible, but ill try anyway.

Nice car, Nexus. Is it a 3.0 or a 3.2 litre? I hear the 3.0 is smoother and more mature an engine than the 3.2, which has slightly more power.

I'm driving BMW also, I have several. They're all from the first 3 series (1975-1982) and six cylinders. Three of them are the top model of that time, the 323i, with 143HP for 2.3L.

I'm preparing one of them for track with a race suspension, a 2.7L shortblock with ~180HP and lightweight everything (aiming for a 900-950kg empty car weight).

Trichord: I believe it's the 3.0 liter engine. Runs very well, gobs of torque. The sound of the engine at high rpm is fvcking awesome.

Stress: I also love the new M3's, I just couldn't afford one since I'm still in school. When I graduate from Law school in 4 years my first purchase will be a brand new M4. Good luck getting a new M3, they're a hoot to drive.

I have pictures but I don't have a host for them so I can't post them. If someone could host them I could have them up in a day. Anyone?

'97 Buick Lesabre. All Bethany needs is a new motor pump for the window washer and some way to get the CD player working consistently. And someone to clean out all of the trash. Ebay is fun for car parts. Sometimes I just wish I knew what I was doing. :D

I'm going to wash and wax my M3 tomorrow (Sunday). I'll send some pics to Vindi tomorrow night, hopefully he can post them very soon.

If you havent' heard the engine that an M engine makes at full throttle, I feel very bad for you. Better than any symphony I have ever heard.
