I thought it was awesome!!

Although others will probably say that it was stupid.

I thought it was a very good movie with an nice intriguing story.

I know the physics weren't realistic.

I actually think I may have enjoyed it even more than Spider-Man. It's been a long time since I've seen a really good Sci-Fi movie that was actually original and not just another prequel or Sequel (IE Star Wars, Planet Of The Apes, Star Trek, Space Odyssey).

It had some fantastic action scenes but they kept them apart long enough to give you a good plot line. Anyway, I loved this movie and I hope to see it again!

Although you guys will probably disagree. I still like it.

However, I have yet to see The Village and King Arther.

It's been more than 30 years since I read the book. Long enough to forget the actual story line and enjoy how the movie moguls abbreviated it.

I would say that I, Robot far exceeded my expectations when I saw it. However my expectations were very low going in based on the horrible trailer and general reviews online.

I have concluded that it was a fine summer movie, and actually better than most summer movies, because most of them are horrible. It wasn't the best movie I've seen but it was far from the worst.

Yes, I got irritated with Will Smith's forced comedy. The funniest line in the movie by far was where he was trying to be funny (and failing), and another character said "Are you being funny?", and he replied "I guess not." If they could have had a lot more genuinely funny moments like that, I would have REALLY liked this movie.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I just read the book this week in order to make a good comparison. From what I've seen in the trailers, its NOTHING like the book. None of the scenes happened in the book. I'll know how far off it is once I see the movie.

Exactly. I'm just glad they said "Inspired by" instead of "Based on," because there would've been a whole lotta death from my hands if they had purported to base such a movie on Asimov's work. Proyas needs to go back to his broody thoughtful movies like Dark City.

I just saw it, after re-reading the book. The book I-Robot was actually a compilation of 8 short stories published in Astounding Science Fiction from 1941 to 1950 and the story entitled "Robbie" originally published as "Strange Playfellow" in Super Science Stories. Isaac Asimov is the author of all of the stories.

I knew ahead of time, from viewing the previews that the movie would not resemble the books in any way. However, I went to the theatre with the intent of seeing just how many things I could find in common.

The characters, Susan Calvin, Dr. Alfred Lanning, and Lawrence Robertson are real characters in the original books, and USR, or United States Robotics was the name of the corporation.

However, I did notice a significant divergance from the premise of the books in that there have always been strict laws on Earth prohibiting robots. Naturally, this interpretation of the books was absent in the movie.

The movie most closely resembled the storyline of the shortstory entitled: Little Lost Robot. In that book, they were working on a hyper-atomic warp drive. In this story, a robot went missing, the model type was NS-2, called Nestor 10. However, in the movie they hardly used the conflicts that occure in the three different laws and how altering and strengthening one, or weakening another, can cause strange anomolies in robot behavior, as was brought out in every single short story of the original book.

Personally, I was disappointed by the movie. I would have prefered having something much more closely resembling the books. Yet another great Isaac Asimov story was massacered by a movie reproduction.

I wouldn't say it sucks, I haven't seen it yet. Previews make it look like a mindless graphics movie, which I'm not really impressed with. But I do want to see the graphics

Is it worth $8 to see in the theatre just for the big screen, or would I just be supporting mainstream standards?

I just prefer movies that actually require an attention span. I doubt anybody here ever heard of most of the movies I've seen in the past few years.
