Ok the FarCry trailer looks pretty dang kewl to me. Anyone tried it? How does it compare to Battlefield 1942/DC?

single player was ok i thought, never tried multi. very pretty game though, some of the scenery is unbelievable on a good vid card.

I've got it, and while Doom 3 might look better(jury's still out, they can't see anything in Doom) the rich Far Cry folliage is a joy to creap around in. That and the Trigens in Far Cry scare me more then most of the Doom 3 criters I've faced.

I have heard good things... when the price comes down I'll probably buy it (I know, I'm horrible- I hate paying a full 50.00 for games these days.)

Far Cry is a lot like Soldier Of Fortune. It's a pretty linear game, so you don't spend much time trying to figure out where to go next. It's pretty buggy for multi-play tho. I really enjoyed the solo-player game and would highly recommend it for that alone.

One of the things I liked best about it was being able to use vehicles, boats, stationary guns. There's a nice variety of those kinds of things that you can use that really add to the gameplay.

I thought it was pretty good.
It's story was nice, but it was real buggy out of the box.

Haven't tried it's mplayer though since I only go for good team-based modes (CTF etc).

I'd wait for HL2 (just my opinion though).
