time to vent

Sorry for the vent but I'm getting frustrated. I log on to a server that's not hosting "The 5" popular levels.Sit there turn up the volume turn on the tv sit there for half an hour, then check descent.cx and 3 new servers of stadium and abend 2 are up. What the heck, this frustrates me to no end. Is everyone just lazy to manually download the maps or are they too scared to try a new level?

Do we really need another "why doesnt anyone play" topic?

Could it be that there's a reason why there's so many of these?

Actually my secret attempt in posting was, however futile, to maybe get a few of the regular players to play on other servers. One can hope can't they? :(

I don't think many of us play anymore, for much the same reason as you were venting on.

I propose a revolution! A group of regular heretics who play something other than vv abend2 stadium ect then maybe just maybe others will catch on...... wait was i just dreaming?

If you're gonna start it, I've got a new level for yall to play. Centripital Force 1.2 is my latest released level--it's Centripital Force, but without the annoying bugs. I've released it to PD and my own hosted site, I'll upload it to koolbear.com too. I am also asking esa to host it for a while.

thanks Stryker i saw 2 people in it but couldn't find a link to download it. The Revolution has started!

Yes, that was the last betatest before the final release, which I am in the process of completing (just about to ask esa to host).

Same here. I played the D1 demo right after it was released when a friend of mine made me a copy of the floppys. I think that makes me one of the first members still around here. Unfortunately, I didn't really get into online play or the forums here until 2003, almost a decade later.

The ping and loss will do it.

Abend2's ping and loss went way up. Where should we play now? Is Waltz ok with the better players? Ha, Ha , Ha KaBoom!

Unfortunately, the only way for people to play new levels if they are forced to.

This requires that no one host Abend2, Waltzin Matilda, Worlds Apart, VV, Subway Dancer, or Stadium.

Centripital Force

CentriForce12 is in my mission folder. Please someone get it up on a server so the kids of abend2 have a nice place to play. Pyro only if you must because we will bring our skippies if we can.

Never host teh noobie levels, never happen

WE need Real Levels

Polaris CTF

Need ENTROPY

FURY levels

BEDLAM LEVELS

Server OPS : will need help with a special file mod to make only POLARIS run over and over ( contact me )
There is not a server tool that will do it, so dont attempt it, must be done by hand after that anything will run it

Esa just got back to me. Centripitial Force is how hosted on d1.descent.cx! :D

D3Server by Hunter would let you run Polaris then Polaris from the bedlam set.

affirmed. in the server config screen hit the button next to the level choice box, so that it says "warp on".
it will always restart the current level running on the server, which will most likely be the preconfigured one.

However the method that d3server employs often causes players to crash when it cycles levels. Bubba's method (edited MN3 file) always works flawlessly.

Posted: Fri Apr 15, 2005 1:18 pm
by Stryker
It works flawlessly, but it requires players to download a new level file IIRC.

Posted: Fri Apr 15, 2005 2:43 pm

it doesn't. i did it with fury, works fine.
original outrage missions from the cd contain the msn file only anyway (check filesize).

however, i smell an OT-slap straight ahead

Stryker, I downloaded this to my missions folder, but whenever I try to join it says "connecting" then after awhile bounces me out.
And who is "boner" who is flinging fwords at me all the time.

D3Server does EXACTLY that if you turn warp on. Check out the (temporary) MN3 file in the D3 root.

Guess what -- hosting those levels requested doesn't change shít. Nobody plays them. Not even the guys asking.

Yes, I think I heard you trying to connect--it should work; I got in fine. What program are you using to connect?

Thank you Cops/he/she/who/bird/mouse for the clarification of the DBB rules and what I should accept/not accept. BTW....Since you haven't yet accepted me for who I am, I wonder which one of us should "get over it".... :)

I accept bettina as the dbb's first female cat member. I didn't think it was possible for a feline to learn a human language on the Internet keyboard (talking) device... but you sho nuff did. Itâ??s amazing.

Have you been checked for worms and fleas? Please advise... I don't want you skuzzing up my AOL connect with dirty real life things like worms, fleas, and swear words.

Ok...I guess being accepted as a cat is the closest thing I can expect in a male dominated chat club. So I will take it.

Yes, I'm free of fleas, thank you.

In your case I think it has less to do with gender and more to do with age and maturity.

It was flat..but OK. I liked it and would play it again if others play it.

Krom....Are you saying that this board is full of old matured people? Or are you saying I am not mature yet.
