I just found a link to a teaser trailer for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: Click here (54 MB, MOV format; you'll probably have to re-name the file to something shorter to get it to work) I haven't been this excited for a movie since I first saw the trailer for Lord of the Rings. The Chronicles of Narnia were my absolute favorite books as a child, and they rank second only to Lord of the Rings. If the movie lives up to this trailer, it's absolutely dead-on. And to sweeten the deal, Weta, the same people who did the LOTR special effects, did this film as well. I absolutely can't wait for this December; this trailer sent chills up my spine. :D

I'm sure if it's made with as much skill as the lotr series it will be a cracking movie in itself.

Unfortunatly just like lotr i read the Narnia series when i was very young so nothing will be able to replace the wonderment i had for the books.

What's the game plan for these movies though? How are they getting divided up? Are they doing them all start to finish?

awesome! Been waiting on a trailer.

Here is a page with 3 of the featurettes so far (one on WETA, one of 'The Director' and one on Creatures and sets)

The books made a big impression on me, too. About 10 years ago I actually made a pilgrimage to the house where the author lived and to his grave site.

Hope the movies do justice to the books.

This looks like it will be good.....

The best thing about this is there were 7 books to the series, all of which will make good movies.

Wonderworks did the First 4 books years ago, did a really good job too. Wish they had done all of them tho. :(

The Wonderworks productions were pretty good for sort of low-budget ("I can see the wires") productions. They told the stories pretty well -- they always included the right dialogue, and they represented the characters just right.

The hope is that these will be just like those but with better special effects. So far, it looks like the effects here will be great, so as long as they do a good job of telling the story, I'll be happy.

I went to Borders yesterday and picked up a copy of the first two books for my son to read. In their computer, they reference a not yet in print "adult version" of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." Wonder what "adult version" means...
