does an AUX input exist on my stereo?

Post by Battlebot »

I have a Small 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a standard stereo. I wanna plug in my iPod to it so I can enjoy clear msic without having to fumble around with fm transmitters.

My stereo only has a CD player. Im wondering if theres a secret port on the back of the stereo where i can plug in something. thanks

You can buy, very cheaply, an auxiliary input device which is simply a cassette tape with a wire and stereo plug coming out of it. Pop it into your tape deck and hit play, then plug it into your iPod and hit play on that.

Voila!

I would highly doubt it but I'm sure some garage could hook one up.

LOL!!!

Battle, im asuming it does Radio aswell? if it does, you can get a FM Converter. plug it into the iPod and allow it to use a certain frequency that is unused in your area, and it will simply play it over FM Stereo.

My Mom has something similar to one of these. It does a good job for its' limited range of transmitting. And it will work on any model of i-Pod, a even better plus. :)

Without a model number, there's no way to know.

88.1 is usually your best bet in terms of open FM bands. My friend uses the TuneCast FM for his Dell DJ and it comes through crystal clear; much better audio quality than through one of those tape deck adapters.
