Text issues in Descent 3 at higher resolution

Post by WarAdvocat »

I was tweaking my D3 installation, and I found that text gets screwed up (too big) on higher resolutions. Is there a fix for this? About the highest resolution that looks acceptable is 800 x 600.

Is there a fix or workaround for this?

I haven't tried commandlining a non-default resolution, and, of course when I think to ask this question I'm not at home to try 1024 x 768 or something.

I relaized this when I got a 17" monitor that the text from 800x600 is the best size. Anything higher until you reach 1600x1200 is to big for the resolution. Nothing you can do about it.

960x720 is fine for me. I recall 1280x1024 having small text too.

1280x1024 works for me -- needs to be set via command line tho.

D3 switches to a large font at 1024x768 and higher, I use 1280x960 and it looks fine.

I'll try command-lining 1280 x 1024. Thanks guys. I was drawing a blank.

Shhhh... D3 secret. The big font at 1280x960 looks exactly the same as the small font at 640x480. :P
