First the technology to make you invisible...and now this. Yay, aren't the Japs smart.

What's next? Flying cars?

Knowing the rather permissive sexual nature of Japanese males (rape comics, girls' worn underwear from vending machines, etc.), I think we can guess where this is heading. I'm just surprised it's not a Sailor Moon android.

Before Repliee Q1, Professor Ishiguru developed Repliee R1 which had the appearance of a five-year-old Japanese girl.

31 actuators doesn't sound like many.
but the 5 yr old child sounds like a good idea for an android, since they are kindof stupid it makes sense.

wouldn't mind seeing it in action, faking human movement is notoriously hard.

Flying cars were recently developed, but by an american. It uses 4 jet powered propellers in housings that can be pivoted.

What's this technology about being invisible? I haven't heard of that.

that camoflage (inspired by thermoptic camouflage in Ghost in the Shell) is purely theoretical and no-where near even prototyping.

all the demonstrations of it have been using a seperate projector that projects an image onto the device from afar.

i wrote an article about it over 2 years ago here:
