firefox updated

I noticed that after I updated firefox tonight, my close tab extension quit working... if this happens to you just reinstall tab x. It works again. :)

Newest version is 1.5.0.1, for those that didn't get the update notice.

The update seems to have fixed a memory leak issue I was having (after leaving FF open for a few hours memory usage would be several hundred MBs). :D

Stupid question, but were there many plugin incompatibility issues when upgrading from 1.0.x to 1.5?

Um Stupid answer, Um yes?

I only have one extension that is not compatible with the rev from this thread

but from 1.0 to 1.5 took a while for all my extensions/themes to get updated

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

Another stupid question. OK, so I've been a bad boy and haven't upgraded ff since 1.0.2. Can I just fire up the new dowload and let it install over my existing ff, or do I need to tapdance around and move files, etc. like I did the last several times before uninstalling the old ff prior to installing the newest version?

Should be able to uninstall 1.0.2 and install 1.5.0.1 to the same place, keeping all your bookmarks.

IIRC, the uninstaller doesn't touch your profile unless you tell it to. Just uninstall your old version, tell it to not delete your profile, and install the updated version. When you first launch it, it will check your extentions to see if they're compatible. If not, it will guide you through checking for updates.

btw, your profile is NOT stored in the X:\\Program Files\\Mozilla Firefox directory. Its stored under X:\\Documents and Settings\\YOURPROFILENAME\\Application Data\\Mozilla\\Firefox\\randomhexicecimalname(where X is the driveletter you installed windows to)

Any reason why you'd ever need to have 7 tabs open for 24 hours? :P

The more extentions you install the more memory its going to eat up Top Wop.
