You just need to go look. Looks a bit early, but it is a 6dof shooter and it appears to be well on it's way.

Perhaps instead of having others do your searching for you, you might try exhibiting a little scientific curiosity. This will be the last time I do so:

It's not ongoing, it happened 1999 to 2001 (they assume). They have found evidence of it, not exploding volcano's and are now exploring the idea that this may be more common than expected (this wasn't a slow leak like the footage posted above, it was more of a gas explosion as I understand it ...

Plus most scientists agree that "global warming" is bogus.
No... no they don't. Even your own article only said 17,000 scientists did.
There aren't many actual scientists are on that list. It's an infamous petition . Andy's link is from 2003, and if anything, climate change has happened far ...

Re:
I wouldn't say that. With the source code the input systems could be expanded and native joystick support added. Remember, there is an Xbox version of Doom 3 the definately uses the "joystick".Duper wrote:IC has no stick support nor will it. (no fault of the team's)

Re:
Which brings up a question will IC eventually end up being a standalone(w/o d3) game in itself.
Not in the plans right now, but who knows. Maybe some publisher would want to drive a truck load of cash up to our door and change the name.

Nothing from the Orbital project that's worthwhile other than some tunes, and a bunch of sounds (some live on in IC). As someone else mentioned, that project was pretty much doomed.Trackball wrote:Was there anything from the MS/Orbital projects that might be of interest? Engine shots, renders, or art?

Re:
they gave up the rights to the Descent name years ago.
Descent Movie - you mean - lol
No, the game too. Cancelled in 2002! Don't forget that Interplay does not and never did own the IP for Descent. Matt Toschlog and Mike Kulas do (as Parallax Software).

To be honest, I'm not sure IC would really benefit from the latest greatest uber graphics. I'm confident the install base of Doom3 is an order of magnitude greater than Crysis (plus those that can actually run Crysis). As well, the whole Open Source thing noted above will really help us (or help ...

Just to add, the other reason it makes sense to stay with Doom 3 is that it will be open source \"soon\". That might open up a whole lot of things.
This is long, but around 20:28 John Carmack tells us Doom 3 will be open source.

Well, we're not 100% sure Q4 has actual working joystick code either, unless you're developing for XBox360. Frying pan...meet fire.
Let's face it, few developers expect you to have a joystick hooked up to your PC to play a FPS. I think they were more common back in the pre-mouselook days of D1 and ...
