I wouldn't say that. With the source code the input systems could be expanded and native joystick support added. Remember, there is an Xbox version of Doom 3 the definately uses the "joystick".

Native joystick support is still broken in Q4 from what I understand. It's supposed to work in QW:ET but folks are still having lots of trouble with it.

Sure, but it's a ton of work. There are some fundemental differences between modding Q4 and D3 even though it's basically the same engine. We're not sure there would be much benefit.

There was an \"internal\" release in November adding upgradable lasers and quad firing. Hopefully, there will be another very soon with the pickups, new weapons ect.
