A lot of speculative art from fans, as far as I can determine.
Expect *something* from GM in a rwd coupe to compete against the resurgence of *muscle* from Ford and Chrysler (http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102664) but it doesn't sound like it's made any sort of commitment toward resurrecting the F-bodies. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Right now GM is hurting and risk doesn't make alot of sense at the moment, imo.
I think that was a concept a few years ago. But considering the success GM has had with the newer Camaros and the GTO (not much), it'd be silly of them to release another coupe in the same vein as those two.
GM is hurting because a few years back they went cheap and they begain designing ugly cars. Some cars they sold, in particular the 2000+ Bonneville were priced $30,000 and above, almost like a Cadillac yet they had cheap design and tacky plastic interriors. Now at a time where affordable muscle cars are popular GM pulls out (like the Camaro and Firebird) and puts out small put-put cars that all ether look the same or looks like an import. If they want to gain marketshare again they have to go back to their roots and have distinctive styling in their divisions rather than blending them all together and give cars that people really want rather than imitating foreign markets. People do want a Bonneville but not if its ugly, has plastic tacky interior and is priced like a Cadillac.
That pic of the "so called" 07 Camaro is a render by a fan. There was never a concept made in that body style. It's a shame that they dont make that car, because there'd be millions of em on the road. It's also a shame that if they did make the car, there'd be millions of em on the road. Look at the new mustang. They're everywhere.
Far as I know the Camaro is done ...no more. If they make a new one...it will be rather interesting to see what it looks like. After whaat they did to the GTO...I'd hate to see how they could screw this up...
