Insane no damage challenge
I was experimenting with new idea. Since playing individual levels cold start on insane is "too easy", there was an idea to do so without loosing single shield. I'm skeptical about doing all levels, but you never know.. I noticed one thing very soon. The game is very unforgiving. You have to be very careful about walls. Sometimes just a small contact with wall/edge is considered as damage hit. The game counts two types of wall hits - a big one, that means directly loosing 1 shield and a small one, that means loosing 0,5 shield, which is not shown. You have to make 2 small hits to lose a shield. For multiple reasons I consider 0,5 shield hit still to be a "No Damage" run. First of all, it doesn't show any damage happening to player, also it is hard to determine, if such a damage happened at all. You would need some special tool to detect it. I already made levels 1-7, 12 and 27. I will start sending them soon.
Re: Insane no damage challenge
First run, L1. Easy level to do.
Re: Insane no damage challenge
Level 2 is already much harder compared to L1.

Ha, that Invulnerability running out a split second after you clean the room. Amazing. For some reason these are more fun to watch than the regular speedruns. I think it's because they aren't just fast, they are also absurd.
Re: Insane no damage challenge
That was close in reactor room. One more second and driller would got me.
Haha, can you imagine how absurd would be level 19? I tried L9 again today, and again failed...

Level 7 is long. But most parts are not hard. Probably most annoying part is yellow key area, every robot is very dangerous here due to the environment. Especially that spider. Red mech + spider close to hostages can also punish you easily. Also brown hulk in blue door close to cloack is dangerous, his position is really random. When he goes up into the coridor, it is not a problem, but when he stays down like in this run, it is very scary, sometimes you have no chance no matter what you do. "Interesting" is the end. That double matcen with lifters is just a praying area. You have chance to survive, because when you are cloacked, small contact with robot usually doesn't cause you damage. But since you are often stucked here a bit longer, some damage happens. After loosing 2 tries here I decided to change my strategy and instead of going back through matcen I went other side. There is just enough time to make it to red door and for another cloack while still cloacked.

Re: Insane no damage challenge
So, I realised I was totally wrong with my statement about how shield works. Small wall hit actually cause something like 0.35 shield damage and big wall hit 0.7 (not sure if these numbers are 100% accurate) and on display it is rounded to closest full number. So that is why after one small hit you still have 100 and after 2 small hits you have 99. Also, there is actually easy way to prove if one small hit happened or not, because it affects final score after level is finished. But to be honest I don't wish to change the rules and start everything again with posting also final score when I already made half of the levels.
Re: Insane no damage challenge
Level 8 - hard one, that is for sure. I'm not very happy about the execution, also had to do some backtracking at the very end, but I don't wish spending more time by redoing it.
Level 9 - this one is VERY hard. I literally spent more time here than in all other levels I did so far combined. You can't notice it from this run, but there is almost always so much aggressive roaming happening. I'm glad I managed to make it at the end.
