Things are still wonky here. But what's up with the "Too Many Requests" error?

I bitched at the host a couple days ago, hoping they get it completely sorted soon.

I told them this site even in its heyday could run on a potato chip and a gum stick, so why the hell were they struggling.

For whatever reason it worked better if you used the alternate domain dbb.d3k.org

Then it's probably fixed, but server cache is still loading the error pages even though there's no error. I keep getting the error but it goes away on reload.

I just purged the cache again, see if that clears out the last of them. Site still seems a bit foggy at times.

Ban/delete user sploitzc_dbbv3. Sploit sounds like exploit. Maybe it's a hack?

edit:

so this is probably your php login, because there's no dbb member by this name.

What I recommend is, back up the database. Start a blank phpbb install then reload all users and posts. This sounds crazy, but it should fix it with all default configs.

edit:

also if this is a ddos attack, temporarily restrict trusted ranges in htaccess. This should help with some of the load.

Seems to be on again/off again. But it works almost every time when I log in through http://dbb.d3k.org which makes no goddamn sense (its the same site, the same server, the same sql database).

Hosting is actually up for renewal in two weeks too.

it seems snappy and fast today on the descentbb.net domain. Anything change?

Yeah, this is the first time in over a week I've been able to get things to load normally. Before this even when I got around the "too many connections" error all I was getting was a barebones theme-less forum layout.
