Do you have Linux on a separate drive? That might possibly be the problem. I'm guessing you haven't changed anything either. Can you see any error output while it's booting? Hit F2 at the splash screen and see if anything looks out of the ordinary.

As far as I see it, selective objectivity is NO objectivity at all. The NYT has *very* selective objectivity, therefore I don't trust most of what they \"report\" on.

I'm with Cuda and Xam on this one... Vista can suck it. I'm running the same 3D desktop that Xam is (Compiz using Xgl in Linux) and I freaking love it. The SOD is basically a Java backend that listens and then launches the server as needed. I don't think it can force the Linux server to run on a different port (as the executable doesn't support it with command line switches), unless it does internal port redirecting. Too true, I have a friend who runs Protools on a new G5, and he says it crashes once a day, no matter what. He says it never happened to his G3 running OS 9. Go figure.
